Cheap boxing equipment may not seem like a big deal until you actually look around and discover that all the pieces of the complete ensemble add up and represent a sizeable amount of money. With all the accessories that are available out there to improve technique, stamina, strength, endurance . . . there is always one more item that is going to be the very last. You can spend a lot of time looking around for the best deal and the right price, but what you’re really looking for is cheap boxing equipment, right?
There are a few steps you can try. First, get a quality product. It isn’t worth getting the very cheapest of cheap boxing equipment if it is going to wear out before you’ve gotten any real use out of it. Make sure the product you’re getting a great price on is worth your time and effort. If not, you’ve got to be willing to pay a little bit more or keep looking for a similar price on a better product. If you have to spend a little more to get a quality product you’re still getting the best deal on equipment because it’s going to last you longer and probably be a more effective training tool all around, anyway. So, don’t be so stingy with your dough that you can’t spend enough to get something good.
Second, you can get on any of an endless amount of online boxing forums discussing cheap boxing equipment and get some advice from other boxers out there. You’re not the only one thinking about it. Ask around. Find out which stores or which web sites sell quality, cheap boxing equipment. If a name comes up a couple times as a “trustworthy” site for purchasing, you should be able to feel comfortable making a purchase there. Make sure you are getting what you pay for. If you are purchasing online make sure you ask all your questions prior to purchasing. It can be really difficult to fix a problem with a product after the fact. So, before you go ape crazy and buy all the cheap boxing equipment you find online . . . make sure it is what they say it is. You don’t want to wait expectantly for new equipment to arrive and find out that it wasn’t a “Punchmate” it was similar to a “Punchmate.” (You just didn’t read the paragraph at the bottom below the picture). If nothing like this has ever happened to you count yourself lucky and make sure it doesn’t.
Thirdly, if you want to get yourself some cheap boxing equipment, you might have to compromise on details more than you’d like. If you want blue with a black stripe and a black star in a specific size and length and custom waist band width . . . you might be paying full price. But if you go into the search looking for some good quality, cheap boxing equipment in a semi-neutral color with only a small amount of decoration . . . you’ve got a lot better chance of finding a great deal. It’s pretty much impossible to come across something custom made to order that is the best, cheapest deal you’ve ever laid eyes on.
One more step, the fourth if you’re still counting, is to make sure you research the different types of equipment out there prior to purchasing. Make sure you aren’t buying more than one piece of equipment to fulfill the same purpose. Attempt to purchase equipment that fulfills multiple purposes. Make sure you get the correct size the first time around. Don’t waste your time with a piece of equipment that was designed for someone half your size, or a foot shorter than you. You’ll only hurt yourself and waste your money in the long run. Look around for the equipment that you need and after you decide exactly what it is you are looking for . . . then look around for the very best price you can get. If you go around looking for cheap boxing equipment without deciding beforehand what you want and need, you’ll end up with some pretty useless cheap products.
